Sustainably Creative by Michael Nobbs

Little and Often

About

Sustainably Creative is aimed at people, who for whatever reason, are limited in energy. It’s about showing that it is possible to stay creative even when energy is in short supply, and how working on small creative acts on a regular basis can build over time into a substantial body of work (and a creative career).

Michael NobbsI’m Michael Nobbs, I’m an artist, blogger and tea drinker (not necessarily in that order). In the late 1990s I was diagnosed with ME/CFS. You can read more of my story if you’re interested here, but the short version is that over the last decade and a half I’ve learned a lot about how to maintain a creative career with, at times, VERY low energy reserves.

Regular blog posts and a free microMag

I aim to write two posts a week for Sustainably Creative (I don’t always mange it!) and publish a microMagazine (that just a posh name for an emailed newsletter) every fortnight called, Getting Your Important Work Done (subscribe by popping your email address into the subscription box on any blog page).

A daily podcast for members and tweets for everyone

I also record a daily micro-podcast called One Thing Today (I’m a big believer in things “micro”!) and tweet most days about drawing, keeping things simple and getting the Important Work done.

Lots of drawing

I publish an illustrated journal of my life called The Beany and a series of digital postcards called A Sustainable Life. I recently released a free ebook called Start to Draw Your Life, which you can download here.

The Sustainable Creativity project

I’m currently working on a project, Sustainable Creativity the first part of which which, an ebook of the same name, is now available. You can find more details here.

Support Sustainably Creative

If you would like to support Sustainably Creative, which is an ad-free blog, then please consider joining the new membership program, buying a copy of Sustainable Creativity or The Beany, or maybe joining my affiliate program (affiliates receive 51% of sales). You are also very welcome to make a small donation. All gifts and purchases are VERY gratefully received.

Contact

I recently turned off commenting on Sustainably Creative to allow me more time to write posts (and drink tea!), but I still love to hear from readers.

You can contact me via Twitter and send me an email via this page. I read all emails and do my best to respond to every one, but please forgive me if sometimes I am not able to.
