Sustainably Creative by Michael Nobbs

Little and Often

Podcast round-up

Vintage RadioMy energy has been particularly low over the last few weeks, and I’ve been forced back onto old favourite ways of passing the time, looking after myself and (hopefully!) rebuilding some energy reserves.

One of the things I love to do is to listen to the radio, not just live broadcasts but also some nurturing podcasts and audiobooks too.

I’ve found the radio a comforting thing since I was very small. I have a strong clear memory of sitting under a chair as a very small child listening my big brother’s transistor radio (he was away on a trip and I was missing him). The silky voices of the character in the radio play made me feel very safe.

I’ve discovered a couple of new podcasts recently:

  • Audio Dharma (I particularly enjoyed this talk by author Toni Bernhard talking about her new book How to Be Sick (the next book I’m going to be buying off my wish list).
  •
Cast on (I am an occasional knitter; I find simple knitting meditative in the same way drawing can be, but these podcast are simply audio comfort food and I'm sure would appeal equally to non-knitters).

    My three most recent micro-podcasts

Listen to: Learning to be patient

    Listen to: Accepting Imperfection

Listen to: Keeping an Energy Diary

I'm Michael Nobbs, an artist, blogger and tea drinker (not necessarily in that order).

I'd like to show you that it is possible to stay creative even when energy is in short supply, and how working on small creative acts on a regular basis can build over time into a substantial body of work (and even a creative career).

I've written a book called Sustainable Creativity. You're welcome to pay whatever you would like for it.

Delve a little deeper by becoming a member. If you'd like to delve a little deeper into the material offered here on Sustainably Creative, find out about becoming a member.

My new book, Getting Your Important Work Done, is currently free for members to download.
